A rustic, very thick pasta originating from Siena, Tuscany, Pici is similar to spaghetti, but much more substantial. The hearty strands are twirled into elegant nests, perfect for soaking up flavorful sauces. Pici is best enjoyed in wintertime, as the pasta shines with rich pairings such as meat ragù, Porcini Mushroom Cream, or garlicky tomato sauce. For a classic Tuscan touch, try alle briciole—tossed with crispy breadcrumbs sautéed in olive oil.
