Farfalloni, meaning "big butterflies" in Italian, are a larger bow-tie pasta than those commonly available, bearing soft ridges on the surface that pasta sauce can adhere to.
Childhood memories remind us of tomato sauce dusted with abundant Parmigiano, as well as old fashioned classics such as vodka sauce or salmon and cream sauce. A children's favorite, these bow-ties are also ideal for use in pasta salads.
