Attention, fig lovers! Colavolpe Montagnoli Baked Figs are the ultimate dried fig—upon tasting one, most find it hard not to eat half of the package at once. Succulent and sweet, with hints of orange, clove and cinnamon, they seduce with a luscious fig taste and texture.

For three generations, the Colavolpe family in Calabria has been creating fig delicacies from the local varieties that thrive in the sultry Mediterranean sun of southern Italy.

To make Montagnoli Baked Figs, the family hand-picks superior Dattato figs during the last hot summer days and sets them to dry naturally on large mats protected by nets. Once they are reduced to a third of their size, the figs are dipped in a delicate syrup and baked until perfectly glazed.

The syrup recipe is a closely-guarded family treasure. In fact, each of the three Colavolpe children has been given only a third of the recipe, a canny parental maneuver to ensure that the family works together in maintaining this legendary tradition.
